Apron Donation to Medical and Education Outreach in Madagascar

Lite Tech is donating a supply of x-ray protection aprons to Penn Orthopaedics’s first annual medical mission to the University of Antananarivo in Madagascar. Dr. Matthew Winterton, an orthopedic surgery resident at the University of Pennsylvania, approached Lite Tech about the mission he and his fellow residents and surgical staff will be undertaking.

Madagascar is one of the poorest countries in the world, and traumatic injuries are among the highest burdens of disease in the country. The University of Antananarivo has six operating rooms and provides pediatric and adult orthopedic services, but is in desperate need of protective surgical aprons for their staff. Lite Tech’s donation will contribute to Penn Orthopaedics’s goal of supporting healthcare providers at the University of Antananarivo in their endeavors to improve public health in Madagascar.
